On November 30th, 2007 Peggy Barnes received the Volunteer Service Award from the President of the United States for lifetime achievement of contributions to the community and the Nation.
On January 2, 2010 Peggy Barnes was appointed the International Mediator for the Africa Network for Peace and Justice.
